Critique Guidelines

2026 September 19th Conference

A limited number of critiques will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Critique Guidelines - Please follow carefully

Send a hard copy of your manuscript — 10 pages of a novel or full picture book manuscript (no more than 10 pages), typed, double-spaced, with title, genre of manuscript (picture book, chapter book, middle-grade novel, YA novel, Graphic Novel, non-fiction), and your name.

Manuscripts should, preferably, be included with your registration form and checks. In the event that you need more time, please have them in no later than Friday, August 21, or you might have to forfeit your spot.

Manuscripts that are not double-spaced will need to be re-typed and re-sent.

You may request a specific editor/agent for your critique and we will try to accommodate you if we can. If we can’t give you your first choice, Karen will get in touch with you to let you know.

Critique deadline: August 24th is the latest date to get your manuscript in. BUT please note that critiques are first come, first served, so the sooner you get your manuscript in, the better chance you have of getting a critique spot!
