Children’s Writers of the Hudson Valley is back! Mark your calendar for our November 6, 2021, CWHV Fall Event at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Poughkeepsie.

Our faculty this year will be Alison S. Weiss, acquisitions editor at Pixel+ Ink, a publisher that focuses on series publishing and transmedia potential. This is our first workshop on series publishing and we’re very excited to have Alison at the helm.

Kelly Going, award-winning author whose book FAT KID RULES THE WORLD was made into a movie, and another book, KING OF THE SCREWUPS, is being workshopped for Broadway!

This is an afternoon event, snacks, of course, will be provided. Who doesn’t love a chocolate chip cookie! Some healthy alternatives will also be available.

The sessions will be lecture with some hands-on writing exercises. Please bring your work-in-progress (if you have one), your favorite writing implements and paper. If your preference is a tablet, laptop or any other personal device, we can not assume responsibility for these items.

On-site editorial critiques will be provided this year. You will have to leave the workshop for your critique, if you choose to have one.

Registration will open September 23, 2021.

Due to Covid, we were unable to hold any conferences last year. This year, we are practicing social distancing with limited attendees, mask wearing is mandatory, vaccination is recommended but not mandatory. Hand sanitizers will also be available.
